As many of you are aware, Bitmain has alerted the community that many of their AntMiner S4s from batch 2 contain power supplies that are prone to failure. Fortunately, they've offered to replace the power supplies for free. I've already reached out to Bitmain and provided shipping addresses for each of our customers who were affected. The replacement power supplies should be on their way directly to our customers right now.
Bitmain has also announced 2 new products. The first is the AntMiner C1, which is a 1TH/s water-cooled bitcoin miner that is in the same form factor as the AntMiner S3+. We have purchased 10 from the first batch (due to ship to us on October 25th) and will gauge interest based on how quickly they sell. My only gripe is that they don't come with the needed water-cooling components and one must purchase them separately. The second is the AntMiner U3, which is a USB-based miner that requires a power brick or a 12v rail from an ATX power supply. It hashes at 63Gh/s and is great for beginners (due to ship on Nov 5th). We plan to have both products available on the site within the next week.
Initial feedback about the AntMiner S4 series from batch 1 has been extremely positive thus far and we're excited for the release of batch 2 in a couple days. We don't expect our stock to last for very long as we were only able to secure 30 units, but we plan to get more as soon as possible. It's starting to get colder here in Michigan, so I may need to buy a few more for myself just to heat the house. It worked great last year!
I forgot to take a picture before we shipped a bunch out, but here's what's left of the "wall of bitcoin" as my wife calls it:
Great news, we've shipped all of our AntMiner S3+ back-orders over a week early for those who opted to buy when we were out of stock! We're back in stock now and will be shipping all orders within 24 hours starting today. As usual, it's first come, first serve.
Also, we'll soon be offering the newly announced 2Th/s AntMiner S4 and S2-S4 upgrade kits. Keep an eye out on the front page if you're interested.
We made sure to make a really large order of the new and improved S3+ from batch 8 and we're happy to announce that they've started shipping early! They will begin arriving on Friday, September 12th and we'll start shipping to customers on the same day. Hopefully, we'll remain in-stock for the gap between batch 8 and batch 9.
We're also happy to start selling the new S1 to S3+ upgrade kits. These kits contain everything you need to transform your old S1 into a fully functional S3+. We recommend that only experienced miners purchase these kits, as we will not be able to assist in the event that you're unable to assemble them properly.
As many of you have noticed, we have completely sold out of the older AntMiner S3 miners and have replaced them with the AntMiner S3+. The S3+ won't be released until September 20th, but it should be much more overclock friendly. It sounds like the S3+ will be capable of meeting the specifications that were originally planned for the S3 models, so we're happy to see the improvement.
We've been so busy packing and shipping, we needed to hire a new helper. Meet Riley - she has 18 months of experience and is great with quality control. No package makes it past her without being double checked. Now... if only we can get the dogs to help.
On a more serious note, we received another batch of miners today and have started shipping them out to customers already. There are still a few left that haven't sold yet and our next batch is due Wednesday. Our supply is finally catching up to demand, which means orders ship faster!
It's been just 22 days since the first batch of AntMiner S3s were delivered and we're proud to announce we've just sold our 200th AntMiner S3! The high efficiency, low entry price, and extreme stability have made these the most popular product we've ever sold.
We have AntMiner S3s arriving daily and they're selling out as fast as we can get them. It's amazing how stable and reliable they've proven to be so far. Of the ~120 we've sold in the last 2 weeks, there haven't been any hardware issues that weren't easily fixed with a firmware upgrade. That's pretty amazing in this industry.
It seems that Bitmain has done it again - they've shipped earlier than expected. In fact, our batch 5 AntMiner S3s are going to be delivered on Wednesday, which is before they were even supposed to ship!
