We are very proud to announce that there is a new team member. Please welcome Craig, our new Director of Communications. He started April 2nd and is already off to a fantastic start. In addition to normal day to day operations, he will be in charge of spreading CrytpoCrane’s presence on social media.
Hello everyone, sorry for the long delay in blog posts. Here at CryptoCrane, we’ve been extremely busy.
For starters, the CryptoCrane family has grown. We are proud to introduce our newest employee, Jason Kilgore. He joined the team at the end of January and has already had a large impact. Also, Jason has been integral in updating CryptoCrane.com.
Speaking of CryptoCrane.com, we now accept cryptocurrencies and ship internationally. Some of the pain points of selling exclusively on Amazon were the limited methods of payment we could accept and only being able to ship to the US. Now that the online store is active, those limitations are gone.
Don’t have cryptocurrency and prefer not to use Amazon? No problem! We have expanded to eBay! Check out our eBay store here.
We have other very exciting news on the horizon so be sure to follow check back here frequently. Also follow us on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter!
It's been a few years since we've offered sales through our own site. Most of our customers followed us over to Amazon, but now we're ready to return to CryptoCrane.com! We're preparing to receive a few large shipments of the brand new AntMiner L3+ and created this review video last month. Go check it out and tell us what you think in the comments :-)
You may have noticed, but we have added the incredible new AntMiner S5 from Bitmain to our product line up. We have a large batch of them that is expected to arrive on January 8th and will be shipping out to those of you who have already ordered on the same day they arrive.
Of course, those of you who pay a lot of attention to the current hardware market know that the S5's greatest competition comes from Spondoolies-Tech. They make the SP20 Jackson, which is faster - but really shines when underclocked. It's also ridiculously stable and only fluctuates 4-5GH/s over time. I purchased one to test with and I'm pretty impressed. So impressed that I purchased 30 more to see if there's enough demand to justify more in the future. You can find them on the main page if you're interested.
Oh yeah - happy new year! 2014 was by far our best year yet. That may have something to do with 2014 being our first year in business. Here's to an even better 2015!
The brand new AntMiner S5 has been announced and will succeed the AntMiner S3+ while retaining the same breadbox form-factor. With speeds of up to 1155GH/s while using just 590 watts as measured from the wall, the AntMiner S5 uses just 0.51 watts per GH and may be the most efficient bitcoin miner available to date. We should have our first batch of 20 available on December 31st, but our inventory is not expected to last long. Merry Christmas in case I don't update the blog again before the 25th!
Last winter, I heated my home with about 40 AntMiner S1s running in my basement. It was amazing and a great way to have guests ask about bitcoin without me suggesting anything (my wife thinks it's all I talk about, but I swear I never start the conversation!). Well, it's that time of the year again and my AntMiner S4s are humming away in the basement again. I wonder what my gas company thinks when my bill goes down in the winter instead of up like everyone else's.
On an even more exciting note, the mining difficulty is starting to go down! That means that for the first time in over 2 years, we're mining more bitcoins than the previous difficulty adjustment. This outcome was inevitable since exponential growth cannot be maintained forever, but those who have been watching the difficulty for the last year know that plenty of prophets have failed to predict when this day might come. Regardless, all this means is that calculating one's return on investment is even more accurate and sustainable.
Oh, did I mention that I have a new addition to the family? Meet Zane. He was born Nov 10th. His job is to make sure I'm up at all hours of the night - so that I can answer your questions about mining of course!
We just received 240 AntMiner U3s and Bitmain really gave them the white-glove treatment in regards to packaging. I felt like I was opening an Apple device. Check out the product pictures to see what I mean. Anyways, Bitmain didn't include power cables, so we're including a free cable to ensure it's ready to mine as soon as you get it - no extras required.
As many of you are aware, Bitmain has alerted the community that many of their AntMiner S4s from batch 2 contain power supplies that are prone to failure. Fortunately, they've offered to replace the power supplies for free. I've already reached out to Bitmain and provided shipping addresses for each of our customers who were affected. The replacement power supplies should be on their way directly to our customers right now.
Bitmain has also announced 2 new products. The first is the AntMiner C1, which is a 1TH/s water-cooled bitcoin miner that is in the same form factor as the AntMiner S3+. We have purchased 10 from the first batch (due to ship to us on October 25th) and will gauge interest based on how quickly they sell. My only gripe is that they don't come with the needed water-cooling components and one must purchase them separately. The second is the AntMiner U3, which is a USB-based miner that requires a power brick or a 12v rail from an ATX power supply. It hashes at 63Gh/s and is great for beginners (due to ship on Nov 5th). We plan to have both products available on the site within the next week.
